Occupational Medicine is a specialty dedicated to workplace health and wellness for both employers and employees. It focuses on the prevention, evaluation, treatment and resolution of health conditions prompted by the workplace environment.
Staying Safe on the Job
Our approach to occupational medicine takes into consideration public health, preventive medicine, population medicine, epidemiology, toxicology, and research. These areas of emphasis allow us to provide well informed employee/employer assessments with a focus on employee health and conditions that can be caused by workplace exposure.
Occupational Medicine services offered by the Heart of Texas Healthcare System are performed by a Medical Doctor (MD) who is a Member of the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners, and has completed thorough training in the assessment of origin in worker injury and illness. Past history, work conditions and other factors are taken into consideration during an assessment - to make certain injuries and illnesses are accurately classified and treated. A thorough analysis and treatment plan is vital to ensure workers safe return to work.
